Introduction 简介
In this report I’m going to write about PESTLE model and how it can affect Classic interiors, also i will talk about resistance to change, how it can affect working practices and what can be done to overcome it.
 
Section one
Economical (buying power, employment level, etc) – economy is an important aspect which classic interiors have to take in consideration for future operations. If economy will be at bad condition buying power will be worse and people will stop ordering services from company. That’s why looking at forecast of employment rate and keeping up with economy updates should be one of the main things in companies.
 
Technological (technology changes) - technology is an important part of all businesses in business today, without it most of businesses wouldn’t exist or run as efficient as today. Most of companies try to be better in technology aspect if they can’t compete with others in normal services. Classic interiors should look out for changes in technology because they are using computer programs to make projects of interiors for clients and because admin staff need computers for office to be as efficient as possible, of course its a costly solution but it would pay out if its been made efficiently.
 
Social (trends) – trends in society is an important thing for classic interiors to look out because if company won’t keep up with trends, their services will get old-fashioned and nobody would want to order anything from them. Social media have a big impact on trends, loads of people are sharing their opinions about different things and due to that something can get popular in the internet and everybody would want something like that.
 
Section two
Economical (buying power) - This factor might bring a lot opportunities for company as well as a threats of collapsing. If the buying power of potential customers increases due to economy changes they would have more money available to spend to the improvements of their homes which will bring more profits for organisation and allow them to develop. But on the other hand a big threat of collapsing will occur if a situation changes. If the buying power of potential customers to the organisation decreases they will be less likely to spend their money on improvements which will bring a loss in profits to the organisation.
 
Technological (changes in technology)- new technologies can be a big opportunity for organisations to develop or change the way that they work. Classic interiors for example have their own website but nobody takes care of it, if they update this website and make sure that it will always be updated, will make a huge difference for business, loads of people are looking for services online and companies without websites are considered as “behind the times”. But classic interiors needs to be sure that all upgrades are done properly otherwise this might get them into more problems than before. For example they shouldn’t buy any staff from first website they look at. They should look around all stores and look if any deals or special offers are available for small businesses.
 
Social (Trends) – keeping up with trends can give any business a serious boost in sales and profits, but being an interior designer is another case, in this business they need to know about any new trends, otherwise no one will want interior improving from them. This means that they need to look out for any changes in trends and make appropriate changes in offers for clients and this of course takes time and money.
 
Section Three
Economical- economy is a big factor in all businesses and everyone need to make sure that they can adapt to any crisis or recession in country if classic interiors will make appropriate decisions right now they can make a lot of profits even when crisis hits country and level of unemployment will be high.
 
Technological- technology is a big thing in interior decorating business. Without them partners would need to make everything on paper and that takes a lot of time, money and is bad for environment. Communication is also done mostly by phones or e-mail and that’s why computers, Smartphone’s etc, are important in everyday work.
 
Social- keeping up with trend and social staff is important part of business. Everybody which want to change something want it to be trendy and popular that’s why if company want to keep up in trends and maximise profits they need
 
Section four
Sometimes change can be good for company or individual, also sometimes changes can lead to even more serious problems. That’s why a lot of people is resistant to changes, in this report i will try to identify five of them
 
Habits- some people have delivered their own habits in doing work and change of anything may lead to situation when employee will be resistant to that change because new policies means new ways of doing things and need to make new habits.
 
Fear of the unknown- this occur mainly in situations where change is implemented without it how is it going to work and without telling employees about it. If employee find out that there is a change in something without telling them, situation in office might get stressful and lead to even bigger problems.
 
Times of implementing changes- this occur when changes are made to fast and employees don’t have a time do get familiar with them. This may lead to situation when employee gets stressed out about number changes in a short period of time and makes even more and more mistakes.
 
Economy problems- one of problems might be economy, and due to that company might need to find savings to survive, one of them might be employees salaries, of course employees will don’t like this change and be resistant to it.
 
Mistrust- sometimes comes to live because there is new manager in office. Trust isn’t something you can get in second, so some employees might not trust new manager and be resistant to any changes that they could make in the office.
 
Stuff turnover- in fear of approaching changes in workplace, a lot of people might decide to quit their current job look for another one. This might have a devastating impact on office work and quality of others.
 
Section five
Economy problems- economy might have an massive impact on any business; for example recession. When business will be hit by crisis they might need to change policies or fire some people to survive of course this will have massive impact on employees which will survive in company because a lot of their friends will lose their job.
 
Staff turnover- due to changes a lot of staff might decide to change their jobs, this will lead to situation where
 
Habits- due to changes employees might have problem with working there because their habits in workplace have become outdated and can’t work like that anymore. This can also have an impact on quality of complete work because employee might don’t know how to work with new rules.
 
Fear of the unknown- Employees doesn’t know what will happen in future due to these changes so they might get stressed about working there and want to change job.
 
Mistrust- this can be a problem because employees might not trust managers in the office which could lead to situations where employees might decide that they won’t do work in office and get a lot of stressful situations
 
Section six
All these problems wrote above can be fixed and resistance to change can be fixed. All office needs to do in that case is to find out what causes this resistance to changes in the office and try to make appropriate changes.
