8-10 MARKS - HIGH DISTINCTION - Excellent audio content successfully created and delivered, of a production quality that was highly acceptable for a wider audience.
Some further advice and explanation of the marking criteria:
• As with Assignment 2, we won’t expect you to find a story that will be breaking news on 13th February for the purposes of this exercise. The story can happen at any stage between 19th Jan and 13th February, but you should write your report as if it is fresh news on the day it is happening.
• For the audio, there is no need for you to include the newsreader introduction. However, this MUST be included in addition to the script of your report in a separate hard copy submitted with the audio of your report.
• The story must be a different story to the one you covered in Assignment 2
• It must be a news story (see Week 1 and 2 notes – What Makes News and How To Find A Story) – if you are in any doubt, contact your tutor.
• You should interview and record two different interviewees about the story. The interviews can be face-to-face (preferred) or by phone, Skype or other format. Always make it clear to the interviewee that you are recording.
• Please submit a written script as well as your recorded audio report to the Cloud Deakin Assignment 3 dropbox. Include contact details for both interviewees with your written script.
• Your script should include a newsreader introduction as well as your report – see the sample script below for details of how to lay out your script.
• You should end the report with a ‘pay-off’ – your name and a radio station you are reporting for (you can use a real or fictional station).
• You must edit your own audio report together using an audio editing program such as Audacity (available as a free download online), Garageband (for Apple Mac users) or Phone or Tablet apps such as ‘Isaidwhat’.
• The size of the audio file you upload must not exceed 125 mb. MP3, MP4 or .wav file formats are the preferred but you can choose. However, we must be able to hear your audio report before we can mark it.
Marks will be allocated for the quality of the news story (i.e the newsworthiness of the story), the quality of the interviewees and the quality of the audio report. It is important to highlight the key new things you have discovered, and include a strong, newsworthy and engaging lead (opening sentence in the newsreader introduction) for the story. Take care to stay impartial and reflect different sides to the story you are covering and also to include sufficient context and background so that a new reader can immediately understand the story and the new developments you are reporting on. Be aware of the need to avoid any legal or ethical problems (see Week 4 materials for more details). Your narration should be clear and engaging, with correct pronunciation.#p#分页标题#e#

But some are sceptical.
They say the scheme won’t have any effect and more use should be made of the codes of conduct for parents that most clubs already have.
