Assignment 1 This assignment meets learning outcomes (a) (b) and (e.)

This assignment requires you to produce a practical guide to the legal, safe and best practice aspects associated with setting up a sports and/or leisure club or a small visitor attraction/hotel.  The guide should act as a checklist of requirements to ensure that the venture is run safely and remains within the law. The guide should be suitably bound and structured to facilitate ease of use.

Because of the volume of such requirements, it is envisaged that the guide will provide the minimum requirements under each of the categories listed below and provide links to further information for readers who need to go further*.

As a minimum, the guide should contain sections on:-

• Health and Safety around the premises (Including risk assessments)
• Insurances
• Customer care
• Avoidance of Discrimination

The Guide should be 3,000 words and will comprise 60% of the module marks. Marks will be awarded for presentation, user friendliness and quality of content.
