Students should prepare the semester paper from ONE of the two topics provided below:

1. Briefly describe the nature of the recent Global Financial Crisis (GFC). Suggest policies to address the effects of the GFC on trading nations, using data and examples from one or more countries of your choice. Use some relevant trade theories as part of your answer.

Research effort and suitability of sources of information including the use of an accepted style of academic referencing such as books, journals and the Internet

Standard/quality of presentation including grammar and spelling

B. Research: 10 Marks

The quality of the overall research effort, including standard and depth of analysis of the prescribed topic

Review of theoretical and empirical literature relevant to the topic.

C. Strength of Analysis: 10 Marks

Clarity of arguments and strength of analysis keeping the text neat and integrated with introduction, main text and conclusion/ recommendation

Use clear figures, charts and tables in appropriate places. Cutting and pasting from other sources should be minimized
