Research project

题目：analyse the business and financial performance of an organisation over a three year period

我选的的公司是：MobileOne ltd. 网址：www.m1.com.sg （需要的资料可以从网站上找到）

我分析的是2006，2007，2008三年的情况。这是一家新加坡电信公司，竞争对手有：StarHub和 SingTel两家电信公司。网址www.singtel.com.sg  www.starhub.com.sg

整个论文要写6500个字左右，不要超过6500。具体要求：

part 1: project objectives and overall research approach (1000 words)

The reasons for choosing  your project topic area and the organisaiton that was the focus of your research work.

What you wanted to find out in your research work. i.e. projecti objectives and research questions

An explanation of your overall research approach

Part 2 Infromation gathering and accounting/business techniques (1500 words)

The second part of your research project should provide more detail about the information you have gathered and the accounting and business techniques you have chosen to apply to this information. It should include: 

The sources of information from which you have obtained relevant data

A description of the methods used to collection information, including online access

A discussion of the limitations of your information gathering

Identifing any ethical issues that arose during your information gathering and how they were resolved (公司的资料是从公司网站上拿的，通常没有ethical issue, 但是在这方面也要写几句话)

An explanation of the accounting and / or business techniques you have used, including a discussion of their limitation. (i.e. ratio analysis, PESTEL analysis)

Part 3: result,analysis,conclusion and recommendations (4000 words)

The third part of yur research project should provide a detailed account of what you have found from the application of your chosen accounting and business techniques to the information that you have gathered, It should include:

A description of the results obtained and any limitations

Presentation of your results in anappropriate form e.g. tables ,graphs, pie charts.

A critical analysis or evaluation of your results which includes an explanation of you significant findings

Your conclusions about your research findings and how well you have met your project objectives and research questions.

If appropriate, recommendations on specific courses of action to identified individuals within your chosen organisation

self-reflectiong of the skill and learning statement,you have to make a reasonable attempt to address all four of the following questions:
1. what didi you learn from the meetings with you project mentor,including the presentation that you gave to your project mentor?
2.how well do you think that you have answered your research question?
3. how have you demonstrated your interpersonal and communication skills during the project work?
4. how has undertakeing the research project helped you in your accountancy studies and/ or current employment role?
 
you may write between 350 and 650 words in answer to each question within the total word limit of 2000 words
it is important to remember that the skill and learning statement should not simply describe what you have done. it must be an honest evalution of your experience of undertakeing the research and analysis project that recognises both your strengths and weakness.
 
the following issues should be borne in mind when preparing answer to your questions:
question 1 : were you properly prepared for your mentoring sessions?
             did the sessions go well or were you unhappy with the outcome?
             did your presentation run to time? did you manage to cover all of the points you had prepared? if not, why not?
 
question2:  in retrospect, was your choice of project topic area a good one?

            was the conclusion as you expected?
 
question3  did you ask your mentor good, clear, appropriate questions?
           are you a good listener?
           how have you imprpved your questioning and listening skill?
           was your communication affected by noise or distorted in any way?
question4: how did the academic content of the project help either your studies or current role at work?
           how has the process of academic research affected the way you study or approach your work on a day to   day   basis?
           how will you use your enhanced communication skills at work?
