为了建立一个成功的迪士尼主题公园，最重要的事情是要选择一个合适的位置。In order to build a successful Disney theme parkhttp://www.ukassignment.org/mgessaydx/, the most important things is to choose an appropriate place, under the help of KT decision and situation analysis, our group identified three musts that each place had to satisfy, they are economic foundation, geographic location and suitable demographic situation.  

 

If the candidate city satisfied all the musts, next, we should identify the wants and assigned a weight to each place.  It contains the high level of safety, mild climate, enough media publicity, and familiar with Disney brand and so on.

约翰内斯堡是南非规模最大，最现代化和最繁荣的城市在，是世界上40个最大的都市区之一。Johannesburg is the largest, most modern and prosperous city in South Africa, and one of the 40 largest metropolitan areas in the world.  It is the hub of South Africa's commercial, financial, industrial, and mining undertakings.  Therefore, Johannesburg has enough economic strength to establish and retain a Disney theme park and it is potential to grow.

 

The situation of Johannesburg is in the eastern plateau area of South Africa with a subtropical highland climate, it always has a fairly mild temperature due to the city's high altitude. Pleasant climate will gain more tourists for Disney theme park in Johannesburg. 

 

The population of Johannesburg is 3,225,812 people, and 42% of the population is under the age of 24, while 6% of the population is over 60 years of age.  It declares that Johannesburg has right target customs because Disney theme park is more attractive for young people.

 

Johannesburg is home to several media groups which own a number of newspaper, magazine titles and regional radio stations.  That means there is a rich advertising environment for Disney theme park.

 

The most important point is that even if Johannesburg is not the tourist destination, the city is a transit point for most international visitors to South Africa because they must pass through Johannesburg at least once; this special opportunity help Johannesburg developed its tourism, on this basis, it established a convenience transportation system to attracted more tourists such as airports, taxis, trains and mass transit.

 

根据以上原因，约翰内斯堡是适合建立一个新的迪士尼主题公园的城市，但缺陷是必然存在的。According to these reasons, Johannesburg is almost suitable to establish a new Disney theme park, but the defects are bound to exist.  On one hand, the whether of frequent thunder shower will influence the passenger volume of Disney, on the other hand, the few numbers of people who speak English has had certain bring barriers on culture because it is a non-western culture based country.
