Mentoring Millennials 指导千禧一代

如今,全球公司的构成正在发生变化:千禧一代将占员工总数的近一半。许多管理者可能对这个消息并不满意,因为他们必须解决如何指导1977年至1997年间出生的员工。这篇文章指出,这些千禧一代并不难指导。在分析了他们是谁和他们想要什么之后,就不难找到三种有效指导千禧一代的方法。在那之后,有一个常识,那就是不仅是那些千禧一代想要被重视,这不是一个世代的问题,相反,这是一个基本的需要,所以公司需要提高能力,以造福所有的人,从而保留明天的人才。
我认为这篇文章给了我对千禧一代的新印象。就像很多人认为的那样,我认为千禧一代是一代人,他们在工作中要求各种各样的东西,而不考虑他们的能力。在阅读了这篇文章之后,我对它们有了新的认识,特别是从“千禧一代”想要的部分。他们想从老板那里得到有用的建议,从公司里获得正确的职业道路、新的技能和强大的价值观,学习专业知识、管理知识和其他有益的知识,所以这篇文章向我展示了千禧一代的真实形象。
我想通过这篇文章,我学到的最有用的东西是三种指导方法。反向辅导给初级员工更多的变化,以与公司更高级别的员工取得联系。团队指导和匿名指导也将帮助公司解决指导千禧一代的问题。在文章的结尾,这些词给我留下了很深的印象。如果公司的能力得到提高,不仅那些千禧一代会得到好处,所有的员工都会得到提高。因此,可以推广指导方法,从而改进公司。
Nowadays, the composition of global company is witnessing a change: Millennials will make up nearly half of the employees. Many managers may be not that satisfied with this news for they have to work out how to mentor these stuff who born between 1977 and 1997. This article states the fact that those Millennials are not that hard to mentor. After analyzing who they are and what they want, it is not hard to work out three approaches to effectively mentor Millennials. After that, there comes the common sense, that is not only those Millennials want to be valued, this is not a generational issues, instead, it is a fundamental need, so company needs to improve ability in order to benefit all stuff and thus keeping tomorrow’s talent.
I think this article gives me a new impression on Millennials. Just like a lot of people think, I consider Millennials as a generation of people who ask for various things in their work without considering their ability. While after reading this article, I get new idea about them, especially from the part What Millennials Want. They want to get useful advice from their boss to make right career path, new skills and strong values from company and learn expertise, management and other beneficial knowledge, so this article shows me the actual image of Millennials.
I think through this article, the most useful thing I learn is three methods of mentoring. Reverse mentoring gives junior employees more change to get in touch with higher level of the company. Group mentoring and anonymous mentoring will also help company with the problem of mentoring Millennials. At the end of article, the words impress me a lot. If the company’s ability is improved, not only those Millennials will receive benefit, all employees will be improved. So the methods of mentoring can be generalized and thus the company will be improved.
