Important Student Resources
Academic Support Unit
In order to achieve your best results you may wish to visit ASU (Academic Skills Unit) in M012 (on the ground floor), De Havilland Campus. The staff there can help you with Harvard Referencing, Essay Writing, Report Writing and various other skills to improve your assessments. Helpful guides and tips can be downloaded or collected from the ASU. Contact them if you want to make an appointment.

At the University you will benefit from excellent learning resources to help you with your studies. The Hatfield College Lane and Hatfield de Havilland Campus Learning Resources Centres (LRCs) are open 7 days a week, and 24 hours a day and the specialist Law LRC at St Albans also has long opening hours. You can also access the University's networked on-line services from off-campus over the internet. In the LRCs there are over 2900 study places with different study environments for groupwork and quiet individual study. Over 1500 student computer workstations provide access to the internet, email, StudyNet (the University’s on-line learning environment), Voyager (the University’s library system) and other information services. If you prefer, you may use your own personal laptop within the LRCs to access these services over our wireless networks. Expert help is available to you through on-line Self Help Guides, staffed helpdesks, a telephone helpline, specialist staff and through timetabled skills development programmes.
There are extensive library collections of books and journals, both print and digital to support Business School programmes. The LIS Business Information pages on StudyNet at have links to Business journals, databases, websites, skills materials and a guide to the Harvard Referencing System.
