Title
New media and civil rights of the public
Research Question
How new media has influenced civil rights of the public by means of the case study of the Iranian Election Protest in 2009-2010, the protest of Thai Red Shirts, and the 指导ESSAYProtest of British students against tuition fees.
Aims and Objectives
With the development of the information technology, the new media has been playing an increasingly important role in the daily life of the public, and the whole world is getting more and more open as well. The role of the new media could be regarded as both positive and negative, in that it could protect the civil right of the public as a convincing mouth while it might violate the right of the public if it has not been well used. The research intends to work out the positive role of new media in the protection of the civil right of the public by means of analysing the function of the new media in the Iranian Election protest, the protest of Thai Red Shirt and Protest of British students against tuition fees.
Justification
As the civil right is the basic right of the public and new media has been playing more and more crucial since it appeared, it is important and meaningful to state the positive role of the new media in the protection of the civil right of the public. The research on the relationship between new media and the public are many, however, there is not a specific and systematic research that is pointedly on how the new media has protected the civil right in modern times, and how authoritarian regimes have been overturned by the strength of the new media by means of analysing the function of the new media in the Iranian Election protest, the protest of Thai Red Shirt and Protest of British students against tuition fees.
The relevant data is collected by the research in different ways, including books, magazines in the library, on-line journals and articles, especially a questionnaire that has been carried out with the facilitation of the friend in Iran.

Literature review
With the society entering into a world of information explosion, it is irresistible that the cultural explosion based upon the new media would come into being with in a while. And with the increasingly profound development of the new media, there are more and more scholars that are engaged into the researches in the field of new media. Those researches are mainly as follows:
Firstly, there are some researches that analyse the development of the new media with respect to the technical perspective, and try to foresee the potential results of the researches, typically they are the researches carried out by Janet Abbate, in Inventing the Internet, Martin Campbell-Kelly and William Aspray Computer: A history of the Information Machine. Moreover, Nicholas Negroponte Being digital, the understanding of which on the role and function of the Internet is very unique and special. Secondly, some researches are based upon the reality, that is to say, the researches have been carried out in terms of the changes that have been brought about by the new media----Internet. Those researches discuss the influence of the new media upon the social culture, rules and regulations, and the business activities. For instance, Roger Fidler, The morphological changes of the media: understanding new media, Terry Flew, New media: an introduction, Geoffrey Nunberg :The future of the book and John Pavlik: New media technology: cultural and commercial perspective, David R. Koepsell: The ontology of cyberspace, and so on and so forth. Such researches have tried to analyse the new media based upon the transmission of the mass media, the cultural research result and the political and economic theories, #p#分页标题#e#指导英国essayand whereby conclude the new research method and perspectives. In addition, many studies are based upon the new media and Internet itself, try to summarize its unique cultural and social phenomenon. It is necessary to note Donna Haraway while discussing such type of researches, who has written A cyborg manifesto, which systematically analyse and anticipate the interactive of the humans and machines in the information technology era. That is to say, with the evolution of the man-machine interaction, and the exchange of information is bound to overturn the traditional concept. Jos de Mul has revealed in Cyberspace Odyssee that in the digital age, electronic media has provided a high degree of possibility that the cyberspace would be crucial for the development of the history of the world. Mark Poster, from the perspective of the postmodern context, proposed in The second media age that the new media such as Internet may change the habit of information exchange of humans and it may profoundly recognize the identity of the new media.
Taking what have been discussed above, it could be inferred that there are many problems exist in the studies of the new media. Firstly, more attention has been paid to the studies on the mass media while the researches on the personal media has been neglected.Secondly, focusing on a single type of media studies while neglecting the researches into the integration of media as a whole. Thirdly, the researches from the perspective of the mass media is over-stressed while neglecting the combination with other subjects. However, this document aims to combine the new media Internet in particular with the politics in an effort to focus the importance of democracy of the operation of a country by means of critically stating that authoritarian regimes could not work any more in an era of information technology by means http://www.ukassignment.org/   of the case study of the function of the new media in the Iranian Election protest, the protest of Thai Red Shirt and Protest of British students against tuition fees.
