 Overall Comment （导师总体评估意见）:
The topic of the research is how to translate Chinese proverbs into English. Since the proverb is a special text type for translators to deal with, the topic is significant.
The structure of the paper is not complete, without “Data Description”, “Data Analysis”, and “Results and Suggestions” included. In addition, the following problems need the author’s attention:
1. The scope of the research is too wide for a BA paper. The author may choose one or two aspect(s) to concentrate on. For example, how should “Chinese proverbs with natural features” be dealt with in the translation?
2. The data are only presented, but there is no any in-depth and detailed analysis made to illustrate how each of the translation methods is applied. This makes the research very weak.
3. Due to the academic nature of a research paper, the author must guarantee all the terms are cited from the authoritative sources which must be stated clearly, for example, “natural proverbs”, “society proverbs”, “loan translation”, etc.
4. There are some problems with both the language and format.
On the whole, this is not a qualified BA degree paper.  

Note:  The total score (maximum 100 points) will fall into one of the following categories: 100 – 85 (Excellent), 84.5 – 75 (Good), 74.5 – 60 (Pass) and Below 60 (Fail).  Individual items are to be ranked in a similar way, on a scale of 10: 10 – 8.5 (Excellent), 8 – 7.5 (Good), 7 – 6 (Pass) and Below 6 (Fail).  If a student fails the “CRITICAL ITEM”, then the entire paper will receive a failing grade.
